Local law enforcement authorities have cordoned off Jacaranda Street in Hennopspark, Centurion, after members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) were caught in a shootout with armed criminals.

Details around the incident that gripped the community on Thursday morning are still very sketchy. However, according to renowned crime reporter Yusuf Abramjee, an unknown number of suspects attacked a team of officers in Hennops Park.
The cause of this shootout is still subject to speculation. At this time, we can confirm that two suspects were killed and one other was wounded in the shootout.

Moreover, a Netcare helicopter was seen airlifting two police officers who suffered gunshot wounds.
