Law enforcement officials in Soweto, Gauteng, are in search of two men who were caught on CCTV robbing a man at an ATM machine.
Soweto robbers cash in on ATM victim
From the information provided by renowned crime microblogger @crimeairnetwork, the incident took place at a shopping district outside of the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Diepkloof, on Tuesday 10 November.
At the time of publishing this article, the suspects were still believed to be at large.
The CCTV footage caught the two suspects pretending to line up outside the FNB ATM. At the machine stood an unsuspecting victim who was busy with a withdrawal at the time the suspects entered the camera’s frame.
The suspects totally disregarded the security guard whose duty it was to ensure the safety of FNB clients. The two men were seen approaching the victim and before he could do anything, a loaded pistol was shoved in his face and the money he withdrew was in the hands of the robbers.
Fortunately, the victim didn’t react offensively to the situation. The CCTV shows how he froze and watched on helplessly as the armed men made off with his withdrawal.
The security guard was also unharmed in the incident.
