An incident that took place at a shopping centre in Macassar, Cape Town, will leave many observers, some who filmed the ordeal, scarred for a very long time.
UPDATE: Reports coming in from the ground suggest that the robbers who were allegedly involved in the Macassar cash truck robbery were apprehended in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch, shortly after the incident.

The clip that has been circulating on social media was taken by an onlooker who, along with other staff members and shoppers, was inside a Pep Store outlet in the Cape Town settlement that sits on the edge of Khayelitsha.
In the footage, a white SUV, believed to be the suspects’ getaway vehicle, was parked a few metres away from the money truck that was being emptied by armed men.
An unidentified man believed to be one of the robbers was seen carrying a large blue sack and according to reports, this is what the suspects sped off with.
At this time, it is unclear if any persons were injured in the money truck robbery or how much was taken by the robbers. According to unconfirmed reports, the suspects’ getaway vehicle sped away in the direction of the Overberg region.
It’s believed police have been alerted of the incident and a full law enforcement pursuit may be in progress.
