Watch: Pretoria shopkeeper murdered by people he knew?
The two-part video that’s since gone viral shows how an unidentified man was blind-sighted by a group of men he may have been familiar with.
The first clip shows the victim standing at the entrance of an informal shop, seemingly in conversation with at least two figures. The shopkeeper’s calm demeanour and relaxed body language suggest that he may have encountered the suspects before.
As he turns around to address an unknown figure hidden behind the heavily fenced counter — a cashier, possibly — one of the men he was chatting to suddenly unloads a gunshot at his head, at point-blank range, killing him instantly.

The second clip shows at least three men enter the shop with guns drawn after the senseless killing. The men gain access to the backend of the store and rummage through whatever they can get their hands on.
Calm and totally desensitized to the egregious nature of their actions, the gunman is seen digging in the pockets of the dead shopkeeper, looking for anything of value he can make off with.
The victim is patted down a couple more times but, from what we could make out in the footage, nothing is found. The footage ends as the men prepare to walk out of the store, seemingly empty handed.

Details around the incident are still a bit sketchy and our attempts to get a statement from Pretoria police were unsuccessful at the time this article was published.
This is a developing story.
