The Gordon’s Bay community has been left shaken by the befuddling incident that took place at Talla’s Tavern, on Thursday afternoon.
Watch: Man gets executed at Gordon’s Bay eatery
CCTV footage of an establishment near the tavern, on Beach Road, captured the tragic end to a man’s life. What’s even more bloodcurdling about this killing is the calm manner in which it was executed by the shooter.
In the short clip, a motorcyclist can be seen disembarking from his bike, right across the road from Talla’s Tavern. With his helmet still on, he casually walks over to the tavern’s patio, approaches a table where a man is seated, extends his arm and suddenly, we see the silhouette of a man fall to the ground.
Right afterwards, the motorcyclist, now identified as a possible shooter, turns around and casually crosses the road to get on his bike.
The video ends as he skids off.
Do Cape Town police have a suspect?
As reported by News 24, police spokesperson Andre Traut confirmed the incident and revealed that the victim was a 40-year-old male.
At this time, no further information on the victim has been released. However, we know that he was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.
Gordon’s Bay police have since launched a homicide investigation, in search of the mysterious motorcyclist. Authorities have been careful not to speculate about a motive.
Traut confirmed that at this time, the investigation has hit a dead-end with no further leads to explore.
This is a developing story.
