N12 Putfontein off-ramp horror: Here’s everything we know
According to renowned crime microblogger @crimeairnetwork, a black male believed to be in his 50s hit a snag when his white Toyota Corolla broke down on the Putfontein N12 off-ramp on Wednesday evening.
Based on his friend’s accounts, the victim had called for help and between then and the time his friend arrived at the scene, something tragic had happened to him.
What was the motive behind such a brutal killing?
Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele confirmed the incident and provided some more information on what responding officers found on the scene.
The vehicle’s passenger and rear doors were open, as well as the bonnet. A few feet away from the vehicle, the 50-something-year-old motorist was motionless with multiple bullet holes all over his body.
Makhubele confirmed that more than 17 shell casings were found on the crime scene, a clear indication that this was no ordinary robbery or attempted hijack but a passionate execution to ensure the motorist did not have an ounce of a chance of surviving the ordeal.
This not the first N12 Putfontein off-ramp murder
At this time, the motive behind the murder is subject to investigation. Makhubele did not confirm if any items were stolen from the vehicle.
As reported by News24, this is not the first time an incident of this nature took place at that N12 Putfontein off-ramp.
Around the same time last year, a couple was gunned down and killed on the very same off-ramp. Two suspects were arrested for the crime and the matter is still in court.
