Police were called to action after a house robbery left Werner Buchner, a farmer in Kinkelbos, Gqeberha, fatally wounded.
Kinkelbos farmer found dead
On Sunday 5 September, the Buchner family was attacked. The incident took place on route R27 towards Alexandria.
The police were called to the scene at 18:40 where they found the body of the 55-year-old strewn on the floor with gunshot wounds on his back.
His son and wife, who suffered similar injuries, were both rushed to the Gqeberha hospital for treatment. The son of Buchner, Werner Buchner Junior is still recovering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Police further revealed that the arms of Buchner’s wife, Estelle, were broken during the attack.
Estelle sustained these injuries while attempting to shield her family from the attackers.

The police are searching for three armed men who were allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of the farmer. The alleged men are also receiving additional charges of attempted murder and house robbery.
During the invasion, it’s believed the men managed to steal two phones and an undisclosed amount of money.
