Furthermore, it has been reported that the principal was followed inside the school by an unknown vehicle and right when he had parked his car, he was ambushed with a hail of gunfire.
None of Buyani Primary School’s pupils and teachers were harmed in the incident and according to police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele, support service officials have been assisting with trauma counselling.
“The police were called at about 07:00 at one of the primary schools in Ennerdale, Finetown. On arrival they found a Mercedes-Benz idling, and on the driver’s side there was a man who was shot several times.
“It was later discovered that the man was the school principal who was shot while entering the school,” Makhubele revealed.
Lesufi has since released a statement on the brutal murder. Here’s what he said:
“Without even knowing the motive for this heartless act, we condemn the shooting of the principal of Buyani Primary and send our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
“We further call on our law enforcement agencies to pull out all the stops to ensure the perpetrators of this senseless crime are brought to book.”
The suspects involved in this cold-blooded killing are believed to be still at large.
