The ninth annual South African Hip-Hop Awards (SAHHA) was live on Saturday and while the usual big steppers showed up and showed out with honours, none felt more culture-shifting than Dee Koala rising to claim Best Female.

This is the second time in history an artist from Cape Town brings home a SAHHA pyramid. With the weight of the city resting on her petite frame, Dee Koala took the momentous win in her stride. This was her reaction:
SAHHA 2020 complete winners list
It was a big night for the likes of Cassper Nyovest and Costa Titch, who both walked away with two pyramids on the night.
Riky Rick was the fitting recipient of the Most Valuable Player award. A small part of this was due to his influence in introducing new players like Koala and orchestrating the shift in SA Hip-Hop.
