Eskom’s ongoing Generation Recovery Plan continues to deliver stable electricity supply, supported by a year-to-date Energy Availability Factor (EAF) of 62.7%.
The recent Eskom Power Alert, issued on Friday, 13 December 2024, indicates that unplanned outages stand at 12,486MW, a reduction of 514MW compared to the summer 2024 base case.
Diesel usage remains below budget, resulting in year-on-year savings of R16.46 billion.
Eskom remains on track to meet electricity demand, with an available generation capacity of 27,369MW against a peak demand forecast of 23,967MW for this evening.
