Chad du Plessis, otherwise known by his fans as CDP, one-third of Cape Town rap crew Beeza CPT, will be remembered for his gut-wrenching lyrics about the treacherous ways of street life.
Chad du Plessis killed in alleged ambush
In a bitter twist of fate, the blood-curdling tales Beeza CPT told over hard-knocking beats came true when it was one of their own who succumbed to street violence.
As reported by Daily Voice, Du Plessis was allegedly ambushed by five armed men and stabbed multiple times on his brother’s driveway, a little after midnight on Sunday.
Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk revealed that the 22-year-old rapper was pulling into his brother’s residence on Dennegeur Avenue, in Strandfontein, when “was ambushed by five men.”
“The deceased was about to pull into his driveway when he was approached by five unknown men. An argument ensued where the deceased was fatally stabbed,” Captain Van Wyk said in a statement.
At this time, no arrests have been made and police have pleaded with the community to assist in bringing those responsible for killing the 22-year-old to book.
“All information at the moment is extremely vital to lead the police to make a successful arrest of the senseless murder of an innocent young man,” Van Wyk added.
