MyCiTi routes that will be affected by Cape Town Marathon
The main race on Sunday, 20 October 2024, starts at DHL Stadium and takes runners through several iconic areas, including Newlands, Woodstock, and Salt River, with a return to Green Point.

Parking and road closures: Here’s what you must know
Due to road closures and congestion around the marathon route, the Green Point Precinct will have little to no parking available for participants and spectators.
To alleviate congestion, the City of Cape Town has set up several park-and-ride locations with shuttle services to transport athletes to the race starting area.
- Century City: Secure parking is available at the Long March to Freedom facility. A shuttle will run from 04:00 to 04:30 to the Green Point Precinct, with return services from 10:00 to 14:00.
- UCT: Parking at UCT’s Shuttle North Stop will have bus services operating between 04:00 and 04:30, with return trips scheduled from 10:00 to 14:00.
- Theo Marais Park (Milnerton): A shuttle service will run from 04:00 to 04:30 to Green Point, with return services between 10:00 and 14:00.
- CTICC: Paid parking will be available, and a shuttle service to Green Point will operate from 04:00 to 05:00, with return buses from 10:00 to 14:00.
- Civic Centre: A shuttle will be available from 04:00 to 05:00, with the return trip between 10:00 and 14:00.
